Business Management Solutions Company’s Successful Initiative Provides Hands-On ERP System Training to Equip Students with In-Demand Skills

Bellevue, Wash., – July 11, 2024 — To help address the growing demand for cloud-based business solutions and the resulting need for skilled technical professionals, Acumatica today announced that it plans to expand a program offering college-level courses designed to prepare digital-native students for the workforce. The Acumatica College Education Program, which specializes in providing hands-on experience with the Acumatica Cloud ERP solution, is now branching out to other colleges to replicate successful learning experiences and further equip more students with essential skills.

As businesses evolve with rapid technological advancements, there’s an increasing demand for programs that arm a new generation with necessary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) skills. Acumatica is leading the way in ensuring graduates are prepared to meet the expectations of modern employers and contribute effectively from their first day of employment.

The initial beta program, developed by Infinity Resources Management (IRM), was successfully launched in 2023 at Farmingdale State College, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. In May 2024, Farmingdale celebrated the graduation of its second Acumatica ERP class. All graduates received an Acumatica Welcome badge and Business Consultant certification upon completing the course. Plans are underway to develop and introduce more courses to additional colleges, including the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, the School of Management at the University of Michigan-Flint and the University of Hawaii Maui College.

“We’re committed to providing more students with the essential skills and knowledge they need in real-world situations through firsthand experience with our innovative business technology,” said John Case, CEO of Acumatica. “Our College Education Program not only empowers a new generation of digital natives with skills that are in high demand but also addresses a growing need for technical expertise to help businesses transform their operations.”

The comprehensive course gives students a thorough understanding of an ERP system’s principles and fundamental processes. Using Acumatica ERP and a Learning Management System (LMS), students benefit from an immersive online learning experience featuring text, videos, case studies of Acumatica customers and hands-on use of the Acumatica Cloud ERP software. For students who complete the courses, recruitment support from TwentyAI is available, helping them transition smoothly into the workforce.

“This program is not just about education—it’s about molding career pathways. We’re bridging the gap between academic training and real-world employment,” said Gene Caiola, managing partner at IRM. “We’re confident that students with Acumatica Cloud ERP skills will be highly sought after in the workforce, setting them up for long-term professional success.”

Small and mid-sized companies cite Acumatica’s scalable solutions and unlimited user licensing in driving efficiency, innovation and expansion

Bellevue, Wash., May 14, 2024 — Acumatica, a leader in next-generation business management solutions, today spotlighted the tremendous growth its mid-market customers are achieving by leveraging modern ERP technology to streamline operations, strengthen decision-making and achieve ambitious growth goals. Beyond product capabilities, customers cite the company’s unlimited-user licensing as essential to organizational growth and employee empowerment.

A recent SMB Group report found that despite economic challenges facing small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs), leaders remain resilient and optimistic about the future. The majority of SMBs surveyed regard technology as “fundamental to staying competitive and achieving growth.” Acumatica is designing its solutions and aligning its approach to help businesses realize their top strategic objectives.

“Every company’s growth journey is unique,” said Acumatica CEO John Case. “Our role as a cloud ERP provider is to deliver scalable solutions that enable  businesses to grow on their terms. By integrating innovative functions into a cohesive platform and offering a growth-friendly licensing model, Acumatica empowers today’s mid-market businesses to leverage data-driven insights and capitalize on their unique growth opportunities.”

Acumatica customer Telesis, Inc.’s unique growth journey started with the challenge of managing five separate companies—in a diverse range of business areas, including data security, real estate holdings, urban farming, a brewery and a collection of local restaurants—under one organizational umbrella. Previously, Telesis, Inc. used several disconnected software solutions to manage operations, producing  inefficiencies and errors in repetitive data entries. The company’s leaders  knew they needed a single system to consolidate business information, reduce errors, streamline operations and open the door for growth.

“Acumatica helped us exceed our growth goals,” said Renee Schafer, director of operations at Data Security, Inc. “[We’ve scaled] from $14 million to $21 million in revenue since implementation, and that was only three years ago. We could not have done it without Acumatica.”

Part of this growth included launching a new business. Historically, ERP applications posed obstacles to growth, but Telesis, Inc. had a different experience with Acumatica Cloud ERP.

“We launched Avert, our hydroponics farm after we implemented Acumatica. As a group of serial entrepreneurs, this was the first time we found it so much easier using an ERP to grow and launch a new business than any time in the past,” said Schafer.

Schafer also cited Acumatica’s unique unlimited user consumption-based licensing model as another catalyst for growth. Telesis, Inc.’s previous ERP was a user-based licensing model that made it difficult and expensive to add users. Telesis, Inc.’s data security company only had two users in that ERP system. Now, 62% of the company’s employees use Acumatica. “Limiting our users slowed us down, and we didn’t even know it […] Acumatica makes it easy. We can easily add any user at any time, across any of our companies.

Acumatica customer Dukathole Group has had similar success using Acumatica to add new businesses, citing the cloud ERP provider’s licensing model as vital to its growth.

After implementing Acumatica, Dukathole grew from three brick manufacturing sites to eight, with operations spanning the entire value chain from brick manufacturing to delivery and construction of subsidized houses. Having Acumatica as its foundation for financial, manufacturing and construction operations provided Dukathole with the information it needed to transform from a concrete brick manufacturer into one of South Africa’s leading home builders and home-building product suppliers.

“The flexibility in Acumatica helps to support our entrepreneurial spirit,” said Graham Leonard, chief financial officer and operations manager of Dukathole. “When we add a new company, we don’t have to buy extra software user licenses. Instead, we just create a new branch in Acumatica and quickly integrate them into Dukathole Group. Growth has never been easier.”

Pavement maintenance company American Asphalt Repair & Resurfacing has continuously grown between 7% and 10% each year since implementing Acumatica. The company has praised Acumatica’s scalability and ease of use in expanding operations to new jurisdictions.

“We can run multiple companies with one platform, and Acumatica gives us the flexibility to set up new tax IDs with a click of a button versus making a major investment in IT,” said Shel Waggener, president of American Asphalt Repair & Resurfacing. “Any company looking to grow into the future needs an IT strategy that advances its business. If you need to integrate data and you want to move faster with your business, then Acumatica is the perfect solution.”

Since it’s inception in 2008, Acumatica has been commmited  to providing small and mid-market companies with modern ERP that could help them scale and grow. Thousands of organizations leverage Acumatica’s versatile and scalable platform to simplify complex business processes, enhance operational efficiency and achieve their growth potential. As scores of Acumatica customer stories illustrate, whether it’s launching new ventures or scaling existing operations, Acumatica remains a pivotal partner in the entrepreneurial journey of today’s mid-market businesses.

DTC sales require flexible stock allocation, consumer payments and seamless integration with popular online storefronts and marketplaces. Acumatica has made important strides recently to deliver on those needs and bolster DTC supply chain operations for enhanced customer outcomes.

One such update is the new Manage Sales Allocations screen, which streamlines mass stock allocation and deallocation for distributors, retailers and commerce merchants. The feature fulfills customer requests for increased flexibility and control over sales allocations within Acumatica and empowers users with greater efficiency and agility to respond to shifting market dynamics.

“Customer input has been instrumental in shaping our product development initiatives. The Manage Sales Allocations screen is a great example of a product enhancement that benefited directly from what our customers want and need from technology,” said Debbie Baldwin, director of product management, manufacturing, at Acumatica. “We believe that by actively listening to our customers and incorporating their insights, we can deliver superior solutions that exceed their expectations.”

The cloud ERP provider recently released Acumatica Payments to help address the need for simplified consumer payments. The integrated payment processing solution allows businesses to enhance cash flow and streamline payment processes by providing credit card and ACH processing with improved reconciliation, mobile portal payments, click-to-pay and gift cards.

There are various ways Acumatica helps companies tap into the potential growth opportunities of e-commerce through integration with online storefronts. One example is Acumatica’s connection to Amazon’s Seller Central marketplace, supporting FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) and MFN (Merchant-Fulfilled Network) delivery models. Another example is Acumatica’s integration with Shopify’s B2B commerce capabilities, which addresses a growing requirement for a single tool to manage omnichannel sales experiences.

“We’re not just showcasing technological advancements at MODEX 2024; we’re reinforcing our commitment to revolutionizing the landscape of DTC supply chains and shaping the future of cloud-based business management solutions,” said Baldwin.

Company Unveils Redesigned UI, Touts Cross-Industry Capabilities and Celebrates Customer Growth

Las Vegas, NV. – January 30, 2024Acumatica, an industry-leading business solutions provider, today highlighted current capabilities enabling mid-market businesses to grow, scale and drive efficiencies. The company previewed new features and capabilities that will launch in the 2024 R1 product release – with the beta of 2024 R1 available today to Acumatica customers.

The company also demonstrated its new user interface (UI), featuring a new design and controls that enhance usability, deliver unmatched personalization and improve customization.  A public preview of the new UI will be available in the 2024 R1 release, with a controlled release expected later in the year before full general availability.

“Our bet is on our customers, which is why we heavily weight our product roadmap in favor of their input,” said Ali Jani, chief product officer at Acumatica. “Our product managers visit customers throughout the year and use takeaways from these discussions to innovate our solutions. The priority we place on customer input reflects what we mean in our Acumatica Rallying Cry: Building the future of business together, which will continue to guide our technology direction and vision.”

The Day 2 Keynote address highlighted how industry lines are blurring, providing opportunities for businesses to grow with enhanced cross-industry capabilities and attract new customers. Through presentations, on-stage customer interviews and product demonstrations, Acumatica highlighted some of the new cross-industry capabilities relevant to all companies and those that operate in a particular industry.

New features and functionality in 2024 R1 include:

  • An AP Bill Link in Proforma, a new side panel for AP Bill selection and the ability to easily view an attached transaction image, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments and increased billing accuracy.
  • The ability to report parallel operations, enabling manufacturers to manage production orders with the flexibility to report operations out of sequence and multiple operations simultaneously.
  • Access to distribution requirements planning (DRP) functionality, helping non-manufacturers, particularly distributors, manage inventory supply and demand and plan kitting with material requirements planning (MRP) and DRP.
  • An enhanced Managed Sales Allocation process, delivering more control and flexibility over the order allocation process to customers. Distributors will benefit from consolidated views of allocations, enhanced selection criteria and improved ability to handle backorders efficiently within the same system.
  • The general availability of Amazon entirely in Acumatica, including additional features like “Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) inventory reconciliation” and “Amazon statement reconciliation.” These features will enable companies to streamline and ensure the accuracy of Amazon transactions.

The Day 2 Keynote address also featured stories from construction firms, manufacturers, distributors and retailers leveraging Acumatica’s Industry Editions to meet the specific demands they face. Acumatica recognized four companies in its focus industries that achieved significant growth and provided valuable feedback for product development. Presentations and on-stage interviews with award winners like Curran (Manufacturing), Spohn Associates (Construction), Wilmar (Distribution) and Global Printing and Packaging (Retail) shared how they are leveraging innovations to drive efficiencies, improve productivity and manage growth.

The prevalence of data in the workplace has created both challenges and opportunities for small and mid-sized enterprises. Both the Day 1 and Day 2 Keynotes highlighted the need for better ways to approach business data and decision-making. The company shared how its product roadmap includes AI capabilities to meet these emerging needs.

“With so much information available, hesitancy, distrust and lack of understanding of data have emerged, which shows businesses need better ways to approach their data and decision-making. This is why AI is so important for the future of ERP,” said Jani. “Technologies will continue to evolve, allowing Acumatica to further enhance how we bring relevant data to your fingertips more quickly, accurately and reliably.”

Las Vegas, NV. – January 29, 2024 — Citing dramatic technological advancements, a more favorable economic and business environment and a mounting need for modern business technology, Acumatica CEO John Case today kicked off the company’s annual Summit event by declaring a new era of growth and opportunity for the company and its customers. To launch this new era, the industry-leading business solutions provider revealed its new logo, announced the expansion of its product line, and outlined the principles that will guide its approach to future innovation.

“In this environment of optimism and dramatic technological advancements, we see great opportunities in the market and are moving forward aggressively. While we are excited about where we are now and the company’s growth, our ambitions are high, and we are just getting started,” said John Case, CEO of Acumatica. “As we enter this new era, it’s paramount that we retain our uniqueness, which is anchored in our customer-focused Community.”

To address the needs of Acumatica’s evolving customer base, the company announced the upcoming launch of the Professional Services Edition, which will be publicly available later in 2024. The Professional Services Edition will be built on Acumatica’s project accounting and robust billing and scheduling capabilities, enabling businesses to better service their clients and track the entire customer engagement lifecycle all within Acumatica.

Case also unveiled a new company logo during the keynote address, with changes made to better reflect Acumatica’s forward-looking vision, unique value proposition and future direction.

The keynote highlighted growing businesses using the latest technologies and data to make strategic decisions and achieve substantial growth. One of these companies, Acumatica’s Customer of the Year, Portacool, uses the ERP solution to expand its operations and recover from significant adversity. In June 2023, the Texas-based portable cooling solution manufacturer suffered a devastating warehouse fire and restored its operations with the Acumatica Community’s support.

“Following the warehouse fire, Acumatica contacted us to offer their support. Because Acumatica is cloud-based, we were able to get back up on our feet and connect our operations,” said Kimberly McElroy, vice president of business operations at Portacool. “When we needed them most, Acumatica was there for us.”

Case emphasized Acumatica’s sustainability efforts, a core pillar of the company’s AcumatiCares program, spotlighting businesses making remarkable strides in sustainable development. Acumatica named POLYWOOD its Impact Customer of the Year for promoting recycling and efficient resource management in outdoor furniture manufacturing.

“POLYWOOD was born with sustainability fundamental to our culture and brand. We are always looking for ways to be more sustainable and to serve our growing customer base. With seasonal surges in demand for our outdoor furniture and a growing demand for our brand, we needed a system that would enable us as we scale and grow,” said Sean Valencourt, executive vice president of information systems at POLYWOOD. “We’ve gotten that with Acumatica. Their cloud solution has been critical in scaling our operations and enabling POLYWOOD to grow.”

During the keynote address, Case and Acumatica Chief Product Officer Ali Jani cited the impact new technological advancements will have on small and mid-sized businesses. They stressed the importance of software vendors having a principled approach to deploying these leading-edge technologies. The Acumatica leaders announced that the company will soon publish its Principles of Innovation. These principles outline Acumatica’s commitment to developing new technologies, including AI capabilities, in a way that is responsible with appropriate guardrails to protect customer data, practical in addressing real-world needs and valuable in continuing to be driven by customer input.
